PT’s are employed in public and private hospitals, clinics and other intuitions needing the service. Most hospitals employ Physical Therapists with specialization on geriatrics, acute care and orthopaedics.
Usually, patients needing physical therapy are those affected by genetic disorders or those who developed severe injuries. Physical Therapists conduct assessments to evaluate the conditions of the patients so they could arrive with specific treatments while making sure that the patients are somehow feeling comfortable and least vulnerable to further injury.Nowadays, a mere bachelor’s degree even from the top physical therapy schools is only enough to make a living but not sufficient enough to build a career. What is needed is an advance study or a Master’s Degree on PT. Some even take Doctoral studies while working as a physical therapist assistant.
{It’s a good thing that there are several options available to a student who wants to have a fruitful career in the field of physical therapy. As soon as he earns his Bachelor’s degree from an accredited physical therapy schools, he can apply for a direct-entry to a Master’s programThe advantage of getting a diploma from accredited physical therapy schools is that graduates can be easily employed. This helps PT graduates earn money for their Masters or Doctoral studies. A PT graduate can automatically apply for a direct-entry to a Master’s study - a 2-year program where the 1st year is spent in classroom learning and the 2nd in clinical internship}.
The Master’s degree program is especially designed for those who already have a Bachelor’s degree. By enrolling to it directly as soon as they graduate, new physical therapists will already be able to pursue their dream to build a career as physical therapist without re-enrolling in the courses that they have already acquired.
Finally, there are 2 Doctorate degrees in physical therapy. One is the direct-entry Doctoral program that provides Doctoral certificates to students with non-PT undergraduate course. They need to take the study for 3 years. The other one is the transitional Doctorate program study designed for PT graduates who want to further their expertise in this field.
